Reagan - lucky month 7

Before I forget, I wanted to make note of what a big month 7 has been for Reagan. I'll probably move this over to the Watch Reagan Grow page (which is totally not up to date, and speaking of, Britt's is still empty...).

- "Crawling" - more of a fast pace army crawl, but nonetheless very effective.

- She says "dadadada and has just recently started saying "lalalalala".

- Can get from all fours back to sitting on her bottom and visa versa.

- First taste of puffs and yogurt melts. She is a HORRIBLE solid food eater at this point though. We're actually giving her a bottle of formula to get her to sleep longer than a few hours at night. It seems to be working, which is good because my bag is out of tricks with Mis Fussy Pants and her bad sleeping habits.

That's about it (well, all I can think of at the moment). Here's a few recent pics of my Priss Pot:

Christmas Day 2011 in Pics

We had a great first Christmas as a family of four. Below is the morning in pics. We started early, B&R were both up at 6. We also took a walk to the neighborhood playground, in 80+ degree weather, which rally put a squash on the cute Christmas shirts I bought B&R to wear. Next year I'm designing a line of Christmas day bathing suits...I could've made a killing this year.

Everyone got a nap (Britton slept for four hours!!) and lots of playing time. Justin and I had a red neck Christmas Happy Hour (t-shirts, flip flops, folding chairs, beer, and baby-wearing on the driveway), and then we ended the day with a perfect Christmas meal, Feliz Navidad Style...skirt steak with homemade chimichurri, rice, and plantains.

Merry Christmas 2011 from We Are Marshall!

Approaching the loot...

Attempting to make sense of what he sees...

All he asked for was, "more choo choos". Santa thought he had been a good boy and deserved a train table.

Only took Santa two hours to build!

Morning cup of Joe...

Pretty presents...

Little helper elf...

We could start a Cars museum with the amount of Lightning McQueen and Mater paraphernalia we own.

I love eating bows!

Starting our collection of Toy Story gear this year...

"You're my favorite deputy!"

Let the Talkin Begin

Reagan started saying "dada" this week. I heard it first Wednesday night but I have yet to really catch a good one on video. She usually sings it in her crib or the car when no one is bugging her....hence when I turn the camera on she gets a little shy.

Please excuse my booger picking, I can't stand them :-)

Air Quote Crawling Air Quote

Here's Reagan's current mode of transport. She's been doing the exact same thing for a week. Also still doing her Pilates with a side of rocking back and forth on her knees.

Come On Ride That Train

Over Thanksgiving, we took Britton and Reagan to Stone Mountain, which is a local attraction that I grew up going to over the summers, mostly to see nightly the laser show.

The "theme park" has grown since I was a child (now costs a whopping $27 to get in), and Christmas is one of the best times to visit. We rode the train, which has a real conductor and circles the mountain. Britton was in total heaven! I wish we could've made it back, but don't worry, Britt's overwhelming excitement convinced us to buy season tickets, so now we can go for the next 12+ months.

Here are a few pictures. It started raining just after dark, so we didn't get to sit on Santa's lap. Oh well...there's always Bass Pro for that.

Baby Pilates

No, if you wonder, I don't usually subject my children to naked pictures, but it makes this that much funnier.

Rock N Roll Savannah 2011

I haven't blogged about this too much, but We Are Marshall has been in training for my first half marathon and Justin's first full marathon for the last few months. Justin has done countless 4am wake up calls, and I've run just about any time I can fit it in (treadmill at gym, with single or double jogger, early morning weekends) to train for the big event. We figured if we were going to do it, we'd better do it right and try to be competitive. I followed Hal Higdon's Beginner Half training program, and Justin followed the full training program plus some additional cross training.

We traveled to Savannah, along with the Foxworthy family, Ashley and Mike, and my mom and stayed in an awesome beach house on Tybee Island. The Shaws (Justin's boss) and the Chalmers also went along and stayed down the road. Our entire group has been bitten by the running bug over the last few years, and all of us trained pretty darn hard for this race. Justin, Adam, and John ran the full, and the rest of us ran the half.

I'm not going to bore y'all with every single detail, but this entire weekend took a ton of planning (let's just say nursing a baby and being gone for 8+ hrs to run 13.1 miles is not exactly something I'd recommend for comfort), but we pulled it off perfectly. Everyone was SUPER happy with their run. Based on my training, I knew I could probably break 1:55, but I felt awesome during the race and went 1:49. Justin, who had many of his long training runs in this Florida heat go horribly, surprised even himself and went 3:51. Adam pulled a 3:12 (that's like 7 min miles PEOPLE!) out of his butt and almost qualified for Boston.

Justin says he's officially DONE with Marathons (it's really the training that sucks the most), but we both agree that half marathons are something that we'll keep on the calendar a few times a year. I think we both have a lot to live up to compared to the first time euphoria, but we'll see how it goes!

Here are some pics from that weekend. After all was said and done, I realized Justin and I didn't even get a picture together. I'll blame it on him...he was way to nervous pre-race, and way to sweaty post-race...

Ashely and me about an hour before the race (it was FREEZING!!!!)

Ashley and I post race (she went a PR 1:58!!)

Reagan was 6 months old that day!

Sitting like a big girl (and yes I forgot the seat cover...)

Halloween 2011

We had a great Halloween this year...Justin didn't have to travel and the weather was beautiful. We have a wonderful neighborhood that is very family oriented, so Britton was Mr. Friendly with all of the kids and parents. Reagan is going through a "thing" (she goes through lots of "things" these days), and she refused to sit in the stroller, so we basically used it as a candy holder for about 90% of the night.

Britton was "Whitning McQueen" as he would say, and Regan was a cougar (found on clearance rack, but turned out cute). Here are some of our favorite pics from the night.

With Dad...

With Mom (like my Walmart fall decor??)...

The stroller lasted about 5 minutes...

My sweet little kitty...

Scouting out future prom date...

Gotta love the houses that leave the full bowl out for the taking (even dad go in on that action)!

Which one to choose first?

Such a girl, already going after the chocolate

We only hit up about 25% of the houses, can you imagine what heaven I would have been in if I'd made Britt go longer?

And she's done...
