Engagement!

We had an amazing (but too short) time with Ashley and Mike, and he pulled off one romantic proposal. He took Ashley out to Cape Canaveral on a chartered boat (complete with a dynamic duo of captains and their 3lb poodle named Gigi) and got down on one knee! Of course she said yes, and of course the ring is amazing (I'm pretty envious, haha)! Afterwords, they came back to our house, along with Marc and Sherri (Mike's brother and his wife) and Adam, Lesleigh, and Cole Foxworthy, and we celebrated here playing yard games and grilling out. I know they'll never live down the fact that they were set up on a blind date and both of them are identical twins! I love wedding planning!!!

I also went to a baby shower for Liz Mayo yesterday (Thomas Mayo will be here in early August), which was a great time with my girlfriends. It was actually the longest I've been away by myself, and it was really nice to get dressed up and have girl time and also a great opportunity for Britt and Justin to spend some time together. They went for a drive and he took a bottle fine, which was great! I know it's hard on Justin to be away from Britt for most of the week.

We slept in (Britt slept from 10pm-5am, and then from 5:30am to 8:30am!!!), and then went to our favorite country bumpkin breakfast before they got back on the road today. It's been a fantastic weekend!

Fun Weekend Ahead

Ashley and Mike got here late last night for a short (but fun) weekend. I woke up to Britt's cries at 4am today, and realized he had been crying for a while (I'm becoming immune). I walked in the nursery to find Ashley trying to calm Britt down and change his diaper. I think even in the dark at 4am Britt can tell us apart, because he was not buying what she was selling, haha! Big Boy, New Toys

Today we finally made it downtown to get Britt's birth certificate, which I hadn't been able to get around to. They really make that one more time-consuming thing you have to do after you get home from the hospital.

We also got out the activity mat again today, and it's been a huge success. We had tried it over a month ago, but I think he was too young to really notice all of the dangles and lights. Today, however, he can't get enough of it. I took a few pics and a video, I'll try to get around to posting them (haven't quite figured out the blogspot video upload yet).

Well, the music just turned itself off, so I have one fussy boy to get to. In my next life, I'm going to invent a universal remote for baby toys, so I don't have to constantly get up and turn them back on :-) Laziness at it's best, haha.

We've decided to create this blog to keep our family and friends updated, especially on our main man Britt. If anything, it'll help me keep track of everything going on in our pretty crazy life! Hope you'll check back to see what we're up to. I'd like to say I'll post every day, but realistically that's probably not going to happen with the amount of spit up I'm cleaning up these days!
